Smells Like Wet Dog

Last weekend we took a road trip home. I love taking road trips. There is something so satisfying to me about having my husband (and pups) I love so much all together in a small space, listening to my favorite country jams and eating PB & J’s. We were driving home to go to one of my good high school friend’s wedding. I’m so glad we could make it, she was such a beautiful bride. I also got to visit with a lot of my old friends that I haven’t seen since I moved up to New Jersey. But before the wedding, we chilled out in my parent’s backyard around the pool with the dogs. This was Charlotte’s first experience in a pool. She is such a “go-getter” when it comes to her ball. She will do anything for her ball. She was hesitant at first when it came to getting in the water, but she got the hang of it. We had to hold her butt up because she was so bottom heavy. She would start to sink vertically. You’ll note that Penny is not in any of the shots because she absolutely, with a passion, HATES water! Yes, even puddles on the street.

On Sunday, Ben’s parents came over and we had a delicious cookout with Chicago style and tomato and basil style hot dogs, fried zucchini sticks, corn and Ben’s favorite, mom’s homemade chips and salsa. It truly was a fabulous weekend! Home sweet home.
